This fall, Banana Republic took a road trip to the creative hub of New Scandinavia, a city that is continually pushing the envelope of design which led to the creation of the Fall 2015 Collection. The team set course to visit Stockholm, Amsterdam, Antwerp and Copenhagen, drawing inspiration from each city’s cultural, design, and architectural histories.
AUGUST | ON THE MOVE
August is inspired by café & bicycle culture – the pulse of Northern Europe’s fashion capitals. The collection includes military and surplus styles in autumnal colors that range from olive greens to new gingers. The Collection comprises of inspiration drawn from the streets of each city to design graphics and slogans on tees and accessories.
SEPTEMBER | AT THE DOCKS
Inspired by the docksides and canals of Northern Europe, September is a modern reinterpretation of maritime essentials. Standout pieces include fisherman stitch sweaters, coated denim and outerwear with nautical accents. During September, you can expect to see water blues and pops of yellow layered with military greens and hints of camouflage.
OCTOBER | TO THE ISLES
Finally, a trip to the Swedish isles inspired October. Playing with dramatic proportions and textures seen in the country’s modern archipelago architecture, a neutral palette of camels and creams are layered with hunter greens and a touch of rouge. In addition, the main focus is on texture- such as; graphic jacquards, cables and ribbing infused with brushed yarns and faux fur creating a subtle juxtaposition of print and color.
