Move over 007 — exotic, extravagant and elegant dream machines, the stuff of riveting novels and glamorous lifestyles — are about to descend on the Marina Crescent for eight glorious days of car mania with the 4th Concours d’Elegance 2015 in Kuwait.
Welcome to the world of Concours d’Elegance! For first-timers to such an historical event as this — packed with more than 60 years of tradition — it’s important to know that the first classic car category features cars from 1900-1930, the second features automobiles from 1931-1945 and the third, in turn, focuses on cars from 1946-1960. The fourth category displays classic cars from 1961-1975 and the fifth features the muchsought- after muscle cars by local and regional collectors alike. In total, the event is divided into 5 categories, and it all begins starting February 11-19.
A press conference jumpstarted car mania on January 18 as Engineer Zacharia Dashti, consultant of the Historical, Vintage and Classical Cars Museum, Betool Zeraie, Marketing Manager of Trafalgar, the representatives of Chopard in Kuwait as well as other event partners announced that the Concours d’Elegance is back due to popular demand.
A prominent board of judges with an impressive track record drawn from the automotive industry worldwide includes Leonardo Fioravanti
who has headed the judging in previous years, Alfieri Maserati, grandson of the founder of Maserati, Dr. Franz Joseph Paefgen, former CEO of Bentley and Bugatti, and many other distinguished
classic car specialists.
Under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Historical, Vintage and Classical Cars Museum will proudly host the event at Marina Crescent for sports car enthusiasts, their families and friends alike.
