The Giambattista Valli RTW Spring 2016 is out for a sneak peek, with a great selection of mini-dresses, chiffon gowns, layers of ruffles and capes. With inspiration drawn from the 60s the collection has a very modern aesthetic that features a different meld of fabrics and styles.
You might be wondering how exactly they manage to do this and the answer is a little simpler than you might imagine. It starts off with taking a sophisticated approach to melding lace with a combination of either floral embroideries and a little sprinkle of crystals.
With just a little flair from the disco era, the dresses are voluminous and come with sparkly block heels to complete the look. There is also a nice selection of cardigan jackets that come in silver tweeds, perfect with miniskirts. Gladiator sandals make a grand appearance in the collection as well, accompanying most of the dresses in the collection.
Giambattista Valli really managed to capture the youthful spirit of a bygone era and yet twisted it just enough to make it sophisticated and desirable.
