Alone in front of her wardrobe, La Petite Robe Noire is deep in thought. Despite all the wonderful dresses created for her by Thierry Wasser, she lacks that je-ne-sais-quoi that would highlight her femininity, the little added extra that would reveal her true personality: mischievous, Parisian, spectacular, seductive, elusive and yet with a distinctive presence.
Inspired by La Petite Robe Noire’s joyful energy, Olivier gets to work and creates not one but twenty fantastic shades, he invents unprecedented and scented textures so she can change her look as she pleases. The young lady certainly has all she could wish for and more.
The family resemblance is undeniable. The upside-down heart shows that it belongs to the House of Guerlain and reminds us of La Petite Robe Noire’s original perfume bottle. The dark mechanism as if the silhouette had jumped inside the transparent case – offers a glimpse of the chosen shade, which heralds a shiny, light-as-air formula.
Two Guerlain signatures overlap to create the ultimate couture detail: one on the transparent case in a shiny silver marking and the other engraved in the body of the black mechanism, just underneath.
