Taking a page from Sci-Fi, the latest Versace Menswear collection for Fall/Winter 2016 has been released. Revolving heavily around Astronomy, even Astrology the wardrobe features a reimagining of everyday wear with a twist.
There is a wide variety of different styles for men to choose from – the more casual tracksuit made from merino wool looks like it’s been made from fiber optics while light-up sweatshirts have soft furnishings resembling astronauts. The space motifs used are various from sleek tailoring and a space-age metallic look that cover trench coats and bomber jackets. Prince of Wales suits are reimagined and elaborated with perforations.
The collection also stuns with its selection of prints, using astrological signs like the star map Medusa print – Iconic of the fashion house – adorns jeans of various colors. Speaking of colors and fabrics – both refer to galaxies as they are embroidered with patches across different wardrobes. The use of contrasts helps bring out the stars in these designs using geometric designs to make a hypnotic effect.
The accessories introduced for this collection adds a little je-ne-sais-quoi with lace-up shoes with no insteps make their way down the runway. The bags are simple in their own way- some with a monotone look while others come with astrology influenced graphics and come with a layer of protective covering. The shine of the accessories has to be the introduction of the new V-Race driver watch that has a special runway edition with a mother-of pearl dial that is supposed to resemble the surface of the moon.
