NET-A-PORTER.COM will introduce MONSE’s debut collection. Design duo Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia first met during their time at the atelier of Oscar de la Renta and in September 2015 decided to create a brand that represented a new beginning in femininity. The highly anticipated spring summer 2016 collection which spans across ready to wear and shoes launched during New York fashion week on September 12 and consists of constructed and ornate dresses, separates and flats.
Sarah Rutson, vice president of global buying at NET-A-PORTER says, “MONSE is the modern woman’s answer to evening dressing. Laura and Fernando’s bold yet feminine designs tick all of the right boxes. We love their focus on the reworked shirt; they took something that is a fundamental staple in our wardrobes and reimagined it with new shapes and cut outs making it into a runway-worthy piece.”
Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, founders of Monse say, “Using simple cuts and luxe fabrics we always try to strike a balance between relaxed and sexy; two key elements that we ensure are evident in our designs. Once Sarah Rutson had seen the first MONSE sketches, she pushed us to develop this balance which made us feel confident that our designs looked new to veterans and that they provided something that was missing in today’s market. With NET-A-PORTER’s support our fall 2016 collection will be available to customers globally this month.”
The collection starts at approx. AED 3,310 and will be available on NET-A-PORTER.COM and is currently available.
