Hedonism, glamour, escapism. Santoni FW 2015/16 collection shows an eccentric and voluptuous verve characterized by a nod to the 1970’s. It outlines the image of a woman who is free from conventions, contemptuous of rules and able to move from subtle androgyny, to sensual seduction and from rigor to ease in the blink of an eye while maintaining intact her tasteful and independent identity.
The unique savoir-faire of Santoni ateliers is a symbol of quality and value. The tools used are the defining elements of the DNA of the Maison; craftsmanship, pride of handmade creations and use of exceptional materials. The recklessness of unexpected combinations develops on a backdrop of sophisticated classicism that translates into pieces of timeless allure.
Crocodile high heel sandals present bands that wrap around the ankle and mink hints. Décolleté and peep toe woven laced shoes reveal thin metallic threading, serving as precious highlights. Rubelli’s decadent and opulent damasks and brocades are used for slippers and boots derived from a pure design. Fox fur Moon Boots deliver an alpine and wild interpretation of the concept of over the top eccentricity. Double buckles and horse bits appear on masculine styles, tracing an ideal link to the origins of Santoni, which are deeply rooted in high men’s shoemaking. The sinuous profile of the new pumps is matched with a covered heel, while threaded and hand-sewn patchworks create mixed textures on boots with cone heels. Sight and touch are awakened in unison in a multisensorial research typical of Santoni.
The color palette is dense and unique: tones of burgundy, deep green, teal peacock and maroon are illuminated by metallic flashes of gold and bronze. The materials are precious: crocodile, python, fox, mink and brocade.
